I’m finding it difficult to get through to the dealership nor am I finding any long-term solution from corporate. My credit, my reliability at work, my safety and lifestyle have been greatly diminished by this whole situation. I have tried to sell the car privately, however nobody will buy this car with its history. Ford Motor Company, a leader in American made automobiles should be able to resolve this issue. With the current financial crisis, this is continuing to create a significant and unnecessary financial burden. I was just informed that they have received the part and hopefully my vehicle will be done and ready for pick up tomorrow.Īgain, I have been in direct contact with Ford of Smithtown dealership, Ford Motor Company Corporate, and Ford Motor Credit in regard to the issues that I’ve been dealing with without much assistance and no permanent solution. It is unacceptable for Ford to see a loyal customer struggling with a defective car for years without resolution. This time due to my many frustrating and stressful complaints to Ford, I was provided a loaner for a few weeks.Ĭurrently, I have been renting a vehicle for 3 weeks which Ford has agreed to reimburse. Unfortunately, with the prior work missed, missed work opportunities from UBER, and the expenses I have incurred throughout the “Ford’s Built Tough Experience,” I am now experiencing another financial burden due to manufacturing defects. I was without a loaner from Ford for most of this time and had to acquire a vehicle from a friend. Six months later, engine issues resurfaced. The engine and transmission failed as COVID-19 gained traction in March of 2020. The next month, it was back in the shop with a blown transmission. Didn’t receive my repaired car until after January 20th 2020. After having making plans with family and close friends, I had to cancel. The first engine blew due to coolant leaking into the engine head Christmas Eve 2019. * 1 failed Evaporative Valve – Continues to be repaired at Ford Smithtown since June 6th, 2022 due to a back ordered part. The active park assist is also optional on the new 2020 Escape.* All four of the above repairs resulted in extended time at a Ford dealership for repair. Optional safety aids include full stop-and-go adaptive cruise control and evasive steering assist. This suite includes pre-collision detection, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot warning, and cross-traffic alert, lane-keeping assistance, and automatic high beams. The Ford Co-Pilot360 suite of driver aids is also standard across the trim lineup. 2020 Escape Safety FeaturesĪll 2020 Ford Escape trims come with a full set of airbags, stability and traction control, and a rearview camera. A newer version of this hybrid is being released soon, one that will provide a more extended all-electric driving range. It's available on the SE Sport and Titanium models. This model pairs an electric motor with a 2.5L Atkinson engine. The hybrid version returns for 2020, as well. The new eight-speed automatic transmission replaces last year's six-speed, and the gear ratios are now more pleasingly spaced for driving around town or hightailing it on the freeway. The base engine also has a new feature that can automatically deactivate one of the cylinders when demand is low. This engine offers quite a kick and produces a total of 250 horsepower. The Escape can also be purchased with the turbocharged 2.0L engine. It's a peppy three-cylinder that promises adequate acceleration. The standard engine is a 1.5L EcoBoost engine rated at 181 horsepower. How does the Ford Escape Engine Balance Power Needs and Fuel Economy? Every trim features sliding second-row seats for increased comfort and also for easier loading and placement of cargo. All but the base trim have automatic climate control. The range-topping Titanium trim comes with a six-way power passenger seat, ambient interior lighting, and a 10-speaker B&O sound system. The SE Sport adds on a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and the SEL boasts a heated steering wheel, Sirius XM traffic with Travel Link, a foot-activated rear liftgate, and a reverse sensing system. The SE comes with a 10-way power driver's seat, front-row heated seats, push-button start, LED signature lighting, and heated side mirrors. The S trim has cloth seats, a six-way manual adjustment for the driver's seat, steering wheel-mounted cruise and audio controls, and a six-speaker sound system. These are the base S, SE, SE Sport, SEL, and Titanium. There are five trim levels from which to choose.
